Accra Institute of Technology is one of the most distinguished institutions in Ghana. There are specified requirements depending on the program a prospective student is applying for. For instance, application requirements for certificate and diploma programs are not the same as those of undergraduate and postgraduate programs. For students applying for a bachelor's degree program, the requirements are explained below:

  • Applicants with the West African Senior Secondary School Certificate (WASSCE) or Senior Secondary/High School Certificate Examination (SS/HSCE) must score 24, at least, in six subjects, including a pass in three main subjects, which include Core Mathematics and Core English, and three electives.
  • Those applying for Computer Science or Engineering programs should have a pass in three electives, including Elective Science (Physics and Biology or Chemistry) and Elective Mathematics.
  • Applicants with GCE Advanced Level should have two passes in Science with five credits in Science for the GCE Ordinary Level, including Mathematics and English.
  • Applicants with Teacher's certificate should have three years of qualification experience.
  • Those applying with HNC/HND, their qualification should not be less than Second Class Lower division. Those who have HNC will start from the 200 level while those with HND can start from 300 Level with a top-up program.
  • Mature students applying must not be less than 25 years, and they must have worked for, at least, three years. With that, an entrance examination covering English, General Mathematics and General Studies would be conducted for them.

How to apply to the Accra Institute of Technology

For prospective students who want to apply, the following steps are to be taken:

Option one

  1. Visit the school's website to download the printable version of the application form
  2. Once you have filled it, visit any branch of Ghana Commercial Bank to pay your application processing fee
  3. After payment, send proof of payment alongside the completed form to the institution via registered mail or post.

Option two

  1. Once you are on the school's website, access the fillable version of the application form, and complete on your computer.
  2. After that, send the form to the email address provided on the form as an attachment.
  3. Then, visit any Ghana Commercial Bank branch to pay your application processing fee
  4. With your full name written boldly at the top side of the slip, you can either send a photocopy of it by registered mail or post to the institution or you scan and send it as an attachment via email.
