Chief Inspector Victoria Peprah of the Sakumono Police Station is reported to have died ‘mysteriously’ in her room days before it was discovered by her neighbour.
A chief inspector of police has been found dead in her room under circumstances that YEN.com.gh sources have described as "mysterious". Chief Inspector Victoria Peprah was found by her neighbour who inquired for a number of days.
The neighbour, Richard Ofori, lived with the victim in the same house with number 10A Nungua Link, Baatsona.
Mynewsgh.com reports that Ofori wondered after having not seen Peprah for days. However, he began to smell a strong foul scent from the policewoman's room.
Ofori called the police when he found that Peprah could be dead in her room.
Ofori therefore lodged a complaint with the police. Led by the district commander superintendent Mrs Elizabeth Danquah, a team of police personnel visited the room and found the demised.
The body was found to be decomposing but an autopsy team is yet confirm how long Peprah had died before she was found.
The crime scene team upon inspection found no marks of violence on the body or forced entry into the room to suggest foul play.
However, those have been taken as initial assessments and further investigations are already underway.
