The Student Representative Council (SRC) of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology has issued four points they want addressed before they would support students going back to school.
In a Twitter post cited by YEN.com.gh from an influential social networking group at KNUST, the SRC has demanded for authorities to agree to four points before they (the SRC) would support students going back to the school.
Watsuptek, is a campus body that brings students together on issues of education and entertainment. And it tweeted the demands were "non-negotiable" from SRC leaders.
It stated: "The @knust_src say these four conditions are absolutely nonnegotiable...What are your thoughts??? What else should be there???#KNUST #WatsuptekReports".
Violence broke out on the campus of the university on Monday after school authorities called in the police and military on student protesters.
Among other things, the SRC demand an apology from the school and want all of campus security to have name tags.
The school authorities have argued that students have no cause to protest and have thus moved to clamp down on any such dissent.
About a week ago, a student was reportedly beaten to a pulp school security and over 10 others were arrested.
YEN.com.gh also reported that the police has arrested over 20 students of KNUST who allegedly partook in the destruction of properties as part of a demonstration on Monday.
The school has since been closed down indefinitely.
