YEN.com.gh has sighted a post by the controversial former HIV/AIDS ambassador, Joyce Dzidzor Mensah, sharing a sad story about her life.
In a post she shared on her Facebook page, Dzidzor revealed that her education had to come to an abrupt end at the junior high school (JHS) level due to challenging family situations.
According to her, an uncle of hers who promised to further her education to the senior high school level died under bizarre circumstance, thereby cutting her education short rather prematurely.
Ddzidzor revealed further her struggle for survival so that she had to sell bread before making some money for school in the morning, and also for food after school.
In her own words: “Without selling in the morning, there would be no money for school and after school there would be nothing to eat.”
She added she was always late for school, adding that her teachers who did not know about her struggles and reason for her habitual lateness, did not spare her severe beatings.
However, she one day gathered courage and told them what she goes through on a daily basis to raise money for school.
Therefore, the teachers, obviously moved with pity for her, stopped beating her anytime she went to school late.
Dzidzor also shared old photos of her hawking bread to buttress her narrative.
Despite this confession about her “little” education, Dzidzor speaks and writes good English.
“The beginning of everything is not as crucial as the end”, she wrote.
Her post suggested that though she did not attain higher education like those who had that privilege, she had made it and living a comfortable life now.
Dzidzor’s words could also mean that she would not allow that limited education to define who she is going to be in the future.
YEN.com.gh earlier reported that Dzidzor had accused Eugene Baah, also known as Praye Honeho or Choirmaster of dating a sugar mummy at the Ghana AIDS Commission at the time she was serving as an ambassador for the commission.
Dzidzor claimed that she caused Choirmaster to have sleepless nights at the time, and confessed that it was his sugar mummy who influenced her to do that.
In a related development, Dzidzor also accused former president John Mahama and his wife Lordina for taking advantage of her in a way which she never disclosed.
She was also in the news for revealing that she had an affair with legendary highlife musician, Amandzeba Nat Brew, and also kissed Akwaboah, even when she was serving as an AIDS ambassador.
