Kojo Oppong Nkrumah concedes that he was supporting the NPP when he was on radio

The Minister-designate for Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has conceded that he was a card-bearing member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) when he moderated the presidential elections debate of 2012.

Member of Parliament (MP) and Minister-designate for Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has revealed that when he was on Joy FM as a presenter, he was a member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Oppong Nkrumah's job at Joy FM got him the nod to moderate the presidential elections debate of 2012 that was organised by the Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA).

Though he was a card bearing member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) when he co-moderated the 2012 debate, the MP said he was not intimidated or biased.

Responding to a question from the Odododiodio MP, Nii Lantey Vanderpuye during his vetting, he said he exhibited the necessary professionalism when he moderated the debate.

Mr. Oppong-Nkrumah had garnered acclaim for his work in journalism before entering the political arena and becoming the MP for Ofoase-Ayirebi.

It is his credentials as a journalist that he pointed to as evidence of his neutrality.

If approved, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah will replace substantively, Dr Mustapha Hamid as the minister in-charge of Information.
