Boy, 5, trapped dead in manhole

A 5-year-old boy has died in an uncompleted manhole at Begoro in the Eastern Region.

Per a report by Pulse.com.gh sighted by YEN.com.gh, a joint rescue team of police, fire service and National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) managed to retrieve the body of the deceased from the manhole.

The Fanteakwa District NADMO Director, Rev. Opoku Acheampong confirmed the said news to Accra-based Starr FM.

He indicated that the boy fell into the uncompleted manhole covered with slabs in the evening.

According to Starr FM, the deceased’s parents mounted a search for their son and even made announcement on a Local Information Center until the body was found the next day in the manhole.
