Multinational mobile conglomerate Samsung has sued one of its Russian ambassadors after she was captured on TV using an iPhone X.

The mobile giants have dragged Russian reality TV host and journalist Ksenia Sobchak to court and are seeking an amount of $1.6 million.

Sobchak has an existing contract with Samsung which demands that she uses the company’s handset whenever she is in public.

However, she was caught on camera using an iPhone X during one of her latest live television interviews.

Although she tried to hide the handset while on TV, many viewers readily recognized the device to be an iPhone.

Reports suggest that this is not the first time that Sobchak has flouted her contract with Samsung by using a rival handset.

According to a report by the Mirror, she has been seen at a number of high-profile social events and other TV appearances using her own iPhone.

Samsung has therefore dragged her to court and sued for 108 million rubles (around $1.6 million) in the process.
