Nyantakyi came under the spotlight for the wrong reasons when he starred in Anas Aremeyaw Anas' 'Number 12' documentary, which sought to expose rot and corruption in football administration in Ghana and other African countries.

The investigative video indicated that Nyantakyi used President Akufo-Addo's name to engage in alleged shady deals.

He was also seen at a point receiving money, which according to Anas' video, was a bribe from an undercover reporter who posed as a foreign investor.

Just days after the premiere of the much talked about documentary from the multiple award-winning journalist, Mr Nyantakyi resigned from his position as the GFA's president.

The video evidence capturing Nyantakyi receiving money in return for a favour led to another sanction from FIFA on which he served in an enviable position.

Under his watch as GFA president, Ghana's national football team, the Black Stars, qualified for three consecutive FIFA World Cups: 2006, 2010 and 2014.

In the 2010 edition of the World Cup staged in South Africa, the Black Stars reached the quarter finals of the competition to become the third African country to reach that stage.
