-Lecturers of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology are alleged to have held a protest march in the school
-This is in disagreement of the dissolution to the governing council of the institution and also the removal of the vice chancellor
Members of the Senior Staff Association, the Ghana Association of University Administrators, the University Teachers Association of Ghana, and the Teachers and Education Workers Union (TEWU) have on Monday staged a demonstration on the premises of the school following the removal of the vice chancellor and the dissolution of the school governing council.
In the video sighted by YEN.com.gh on JoyNews, some individuals purported to be lecturers were seen clad in red attires with accompanying red head bands, holding onto placards that read different messages.
They were also heard shouting and chanting NO OBIRI DANSO, NO WORK during their protest.
But according to a joy news report, the tertiary education workers union comprising security men, female workers and other workers of the university were the ones protesting on some principal streets of the university.
The protestors were calling for the reinstatement of the dissolved governing council with immediate effect stating that they do not recognise the interim management council setup by the government.
They also want the Vice Chancellor, professor Obiri Danso restored back to his position as soon as possible.
Last week, students held a protest that turned violent over what they described as oppression and tyranny by University management.
Government after meeting with the university's stakeholders decided to dissolve the governing council and set up an interim management council to run the affairs of the school for a period of time.
