The president of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) chapter of the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS), Yaw Boampong Adu-Brempong, has disclosed how a student avoided assault from security men on campus.
YEN.com.gh understands that the security men, who took orders from ‘SS Justice Nawa’, beat up Christopher Sarkodie, leading to his hospitalization.
According to Brempong, Sarkodie has to fake his death in order to force the security men to halt their actions.

He explained that the victim was not part of demonstrators, but was assaulted, simply because he was a member of the Katanga Hall.
Brempong further revealed that some rights of students of the University Hall have been curtailed.
He explained that the students’ freedom of movement have been restricted, and this has negatively affected them.
He then recounted four incidents of recurrent abuses against students, including how the university’s campus security, speaking through walkie-talkies, referred to the students as “cockroaches.”
News of destruction of property and claims of rights by students of KNUST gained national attention a few days ago.
It led to the closure of the school and calls for the removal of the Vice Chancellor, Professor Obiri Danso.
The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, which is the Chancellor of the university, has intervened in the matter.
