The job of a journalist is to feed the public with important news. Going the extra mile to fish out news is not easy.
For some in Ghana, journalists are seen as public enemies because they put the non-performing leaders on their toes.
On many occasions, journalists have been brutalised in the line of duty.

1. Parker Wilson
On October 29, 2018, Joy News reported, Parker Wilson was assaulted by a member of security detail of former President Mahama.
2. Gideon Botchway
On February 27, 2017, A photojournalist from Kotoko Express was subjected to physical abuse by some fans and a steward of Ashanti Gold during a Premier League game in Obuasi.
3. Senyiudzorm Adadevoh
On March 5, 2017, Senyiudzorm, who is a photojournalist was attacked by Great Olympics officials at the Accra Sports Stadium during a league game between Olympics and WAFA.
4. Kendrick Ofei
On March 6, 2017, Kendrick, a freelance was attacked by soldiers during Ghana’s 60th Independence Day Celebration at the Independence Square in Accra.
5. Isaac Nsiah Foster
On June 27, 2017, Isaac from Kumasi-based Otec FM was attacked by workers at a construction site where he had gone to investigate complaints by local residents about the siting of a project meant for a fuel station.
6. Larry Saint
On October 10, 2017, Larry, a reporter for Rivers FM was forced by the Omahene of the Wassa Akropong, Tetre Akuamoah Sekyim II to kneel on the sun for hours for criticizing him on Whatsapp.
