Black Stars captain, Asamoah Gyan and his wife, Gifty, have been trending in the news over the past 48 hours.
This follows reports that Gyan has filed a suit at a court in Accra, seeking to leave his marriage of of five years. In all, the couple have been together for 15 years.
As earlier reported by YEN.com.gh, Gyan has questioned the the paternity of their kids and has asked for a DNA test on all of their three children.
The move by Gyan, however, seems not to have gone down well with many people including top newscaster, Nana Aba Anamoah who has thrown her support behind Gifty because she thinks the footballer is just trying to disgrace her.
But information coming from a Kumasi-based sports panelist suggests Gyan may not be that bad after all.
The panellist, Christian Adusei of Nhyira FM, said Gifty Gyan was already married to another man in Italy before he met her, but Asamoah Gyan did not know she was married
In a video sighted by YEN.com.gh, Christian alleged that Asamoah Gyan is seeking divorce because his wife, was already married to someone and is still married to the person legally and that Asamoah Gyan just found out recently.
The Nhyira FM panellist who looked and sounded confident about what further disclosed that Gifty left the first husband in Italy when things became difficult and moved to Ghana. While in Ghana, she changed her name.
Gyan who only found out recently sent a delegation to Italy to plead for forgiveness from the man. It was there that he realised the striking resemblance of his first son to the man in question. He then began to question the paternity of his kids.
While YEN.com.gh cannot verify any of Christian's claims, it is worthy to note that the video in which he is making the claims was recorded as part of Nhyira FM's Power Sports programme meaning he said it on live radio.
