Earlier YEN.com.gh reported that the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA ), Kwesi Nyantakyi has handed a lifetime ban.
Nyantakyi was not only banned from all football-related activities but has been fined $479,000 by football governing body for several breaches of code of ethics of FIFA.
In the statement issued on Monday, FIFA stated that Nyantakyi's ban "comes into force immediately."
It revealed that the former GFA Boss would not take part in any football-related activities at both the national and international level.
Nyantakyi’s ban follows investigative piece by Anas Aremeyaw Anas which uncovered rot in Ghana football.
The piece dubbed ‘Number 12’ caught the former Ghana boss extorting monies from potential investors using the name of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
However, after news broke that FIFA has banned Nyantakyi for life, the controversial investigator has finally broken his silence on the matter.
He said, "I haven't seen the story yet and so I would at this stage just say 'no comment'.”
He added that that ether issue between him and Nyantakyi is in court but he will not rejoice in somebody’s misfortunes.
In a related development, the government of Ghana through the Attorney General, revealed in an earlier report that the state lacked evidence to prosecute Kwesi Nyantakyi.
