Senior officer reveals why Police is powerless against vigilante groups of NPP and NDC (VIDEO)

Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Dr Benjamin Agordzor has won the plaudits of people on social media after he explained at a symposium how politicians control the Police Service.

He also revealed that his family and friends are scared for him for being vocal about police administration and the influence of politicians on the service.

Dr Agbordzor won the admiration of Ghanaians after video surfaced earlier this week of him castigating the extent of influence elected officials have on law and order in the country. reports that according to the Assistant Commissioner, the influence of politicians on the Service, although constitutional, was not in line with modern challenges and therefore begs for reform.

But he stressed that the arrangement as it exists, makes the police administration helpless in the issue of political vigilantism.

Dr Agbordzor, who is the is Director of the Transformation Programmes Office of the Ghana Police Service, said family and friends call warning him to be careful not to step on the wrong toes so as to incur backlash.

On the concern from his beloved ones, he was quoted as saying: “No superior officer of mine has called me or no Minister has called me. It is rather family and friends who are calling me and expressing fear I could be victimized ".

Meanwhile, a young woman, whose name has been withheld has released on social media, naked photos of her ex-boyfriend after she did not take kindly to him breaking up with her.

The man in the centre of the matter has only been identified by the name of Kwaku Pro.
