The Ghana Ministry of Youth and Sports is reportedly going to be hit by sex scandal in the coming days involving a member within its communication team.
YEN.com.gh sources indicate that the accusation leveled against the official involves him requesting to sleep with a journalist in an apparent exchange to granting privileged access to the journalist.
The journalist, a woman, is reported by PressportsGhana as having accepted the demand when told that it was the only way in which she could get the information she needed.
The Ministry official is also said to have promised to secure travel opportunities to cover some tournaments, notably the upcoming 2018 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup to be hosted by Uruguay this November.
A tape involving the said journalist and official is reported to be in possession of the police after it was tendered in by an unnamed journalist. It is not known where this second journalist got his evidence for the police.
YEN.com.gh can neither confirm that the police have this tape nor can we ascertain if the Ministry or Minister has taken up this matter.
However, PressportsGhana are tight-lipped on who this said official is and are expecting the police investigation to make things public sooner than later.
In the context of corruption in sports administration, this would come as surprising especially in the wake of the work by Anas Aremeyaw Anas on the Ghana Football Association.
YEN.com.gh will however keep you posted on this developing story.
