- Chelsea defeated Crystal Palace 3-1 in their EPL clash to go second on the log
- Alvaro Morata netted a brace during the tie to inspire the Blues to an incredible win
- Meanwhile, the tie saw Sarri break a 24-year old Premier League record after guiding his side to another unbeaten run
New Chelsea manager, Maurizio Sarri, has set a new record for the longest unbeaten streak by a new Premier League manager in his first season following his side's 3-1 win against Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge.
The crucial victory extended Chelsea's unbeaten Premier League run to 11, sitting second on the log - level on points with Liverpool, but superior on goal difference.
The unbeaten run is the longest by a new manager in the league at the beginning of their reign, equalling Frank Clark's 11 games without defeat set racked in 1994.
Despite the incredible record set by Sarri, he was unconcerned by his new feat stating in his pre-match conference that he was unmoved by the record.
‘'We have to think only about the match. We have to think only about how to gain points. The record is only a consequence," Metro UK quoted the tactician.
Aside from the new record, Sarri is also the first Chelsea manager to reach double figures in the Premier League without suffering defeat.
The Italian has also won all five of his matches in the Carabao Cup and Europa League.
The Blues' only setback in the new season was during the Community Shield, when they suffered a 2-0 loss to EPL champions, Manchester City.
Sarri replaced Antonio Conte who left last summer following a string of poor results with the Stamford Bridge outfit.
