Shatta Wale and Sarkodie beef has been going on for a while now. The two musicians are some of the best in the Ghanaian music industry and one would think that working together would be more ideal. Unfortunately, it happens that there is beef between the two and here is why.
Sarkodie and Shatta Wale beef has been on for weeks now. For a while, Sarkodie was not interested in the beef as he said he was focusing on other crucial things. According to his tweet, he preferred not to engage in the raw as he was more concerned with doing things that he considered more important. However Shatta Wale taking over hit maker persisted in his brawl.

Sarkodie refuses to fight back
While the fight between the two artists had been going on for some time now, Sarkodie decided that he will not continue with it. This was clear in his tweet which was as follows;
“Sometimes I feel there's a lot of responsibilities on me and it gets overwhelming so 2 deflect em, I shut down sometimes... Sorry if I trigger some emotions in people around me I will try to better ... just know I got (love) for all”.
According to him his responsibilities could no longer allow him to engage in a fight with Shatta even if this meant disappointing other people.

What exactly was the fight about?
For those who are wondering why Shatta Wale freedom artist is cross with Sarkodie Gboza hit maker then here is the story. Shatta took to the media to complain about Sarkodie’s failure to appear for a video shoot for a song they did together. He started all this on an interview with Hitz Fm when he was talking about the reign album.
Shatta rebuked Ghanaian artists for not being supportive of each other. He was angry at the fact that Sarkodie did not show up during the video shoot of a song they collaborated in known as Dancehall commando. The fact that Sarkodie was shooting a video with a Nigerian seemed not to go down well with Shatta. Shatta proceeded to social media when he continued to jab Sarkodie on Facebook for the same thing. All this while, Sarkodie was silent until recently.

Sarkodie diss track
Whatever may have pushed him to change his mind must be a very good reason. He had been silent about the issue until recently when he released a diss track answering Shatta Wale Starboy singer’s claims. Many people know that Sarkodie would have not done this on an ordinary day but it seems like he had a message that needed to be passed on.
The free styled rap track titled advice was meant to shut down Shatta for all the things he had said about Sarkodie. In the diss track, Sarkodie talked about Shatta’s exaggerated lifestyle. He mentioned his constant bragging habit about his fortune and possessions not to mention his habit of crossing with other artists in the industry. One of the reasons why Sarkodie decided to counter the diss from Shatta which he would normally stay away from, is because he felt he was being distracted. This is clear in his song, in a section where he says he is focused on uplifting upcoming artists to make some money for themselves. This is the section that captures this message.
“Megye me ho di nti mo ntumi mma me tention//bra ma me nkyer3 wo branding ansa na m’ak) pension//me ma mo hypertension//only reason I dey do this bi sake of I’m on a mission to put Ghana forward//had to put career on hold//so say these new artistes can cash out some few dollars//so if I see some distraction//I for address am//cos n*gga dey misuse his powers,”

Listening to the song, one can clearly see why Sarkodie decide to go out of his ordinary ways to settle the score once and for all. Whether this stopper will work and finally get Shatta Wale to chill out is only a matter of time. Bottom line is that Ghanaian singers need to be supportive of each other.
Shatta Wale and Sarkodie beef may just be over after that diss track that Sarkodie released. Advice, which is the name of the track, had a lot to say as it targeted Shatta’s lifestyle and what Sarkodie considers to be Shatta's shortcomings. It might just have worked.
