Nebu, movie director and close friend of late Kumawood actor, Abass "Blinkz" Nurudeen, has said that the actor's murder was a planned thing by assailants who had targeted him for a very long time.
According to the friend of the late actor, Abass was reportedly part of a gang in which the murderer was part but he (Abass) decided to cut ties with them and make peace.
The late actor's friend indicated that Blinkz was well aware of the dangers of going to certain places alone and was sure to be in the company of others while he visited such places.
However, Nebu added that the only time Abass did something alone was when he did not want people to know what he was doing.
Nebu also went on to give his own account leading to the death of the actor.
Abass, it was alleged, decided to speak against gangs and gang violence. This act reportedly did not sit well with people who were still members of the gang and it led to his death after he was stabbed multiple times.
YEN.com.gh earlier reported that one of the suspects alleged to have stabbed Kumawood actor had been arrested.
The suspect, Sumaila Tijani, was arrested in his hideout at Atimatim in the Tafo-Pankrono Municipality and is currently in custody at the regional police command assisting in investigations.
Reports had been rife on the afternoon of Wednesday, November 7, that Abass died after being stabbed in a brawl.
The police in Kumasi later confirmed the death of the well-built actor who was popular for his roles as a 'thug' in many Kumawood movies revealing he died while trying to save his boss' wife.
Preliminary investigations led Manhyia Divisional Commander, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Kwaku Buah, to believe that the stabbing incident happened at about 10:30 am.
He added that the stabbing incident happened after he (Abass Nurudeen) visited his boss' house at Akorem, a suburb of Kumasi.
The deceased tried to intervene in an ongoing quarrel that turned into a brawl which later turned bloody.
Abass was reportedly stabbed in the ribs and there was another cut on his back which caused him to fall and collapse.
He was immediately rushed to the Manhyia Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Earlier, YEN.com.gh had published a viral photo of the people suspected to have committed the act.
