President Akufo-Addo has left the shores of the country for a visit in Qatar.
Akufo-Addo will be in the gulf country for a one-day state visit.
The visit is at the request of the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, who visited, President Akufo-Addo, on December 24, 2017.
The visit is aimed at deepening and strengthening the ties that exist between the two countries, as well as exploring other areas of co-operation for their mutual benefit.
He was accompanied by the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon. Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey and officials of the Presidency and Foreign Ministry.
Akufo-Addo will return to Ghana on Tuesday, 13th November, 2018, and in his absence, the Vice President, Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, shall, in accordance with Article 60(8) of the Constitution, act in his stead.
Meanwhile, Akufo-Addo has indicated the infrastructural deficiencies of the Adentan-Madina Highway, are 'legacies of a past decade of neglect.
He made this known after the youth in Adentan-Madina tdemonstrated against the government after a car killed a student on the Adenta-Madina highway.
However, he was torn apart by Ghanaians for making that statement.
Akufo-Addo was also in the news after hitting back at opposition politicians who have been criticizing him for being incompetent.
According to him, responding to any of the flagbearer aspirants until they are duly elected as party presidential candidates.
