- MP for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong, has called on the government to seize the properties of Nana Appiah Mensah, the CEO of Menzgold Ghana Limited
- According to him, Mensah's properties should be given to his customers
- He added that some form of pressure is on its way towards Mensah, and the end results may not be good
The Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, has called on the government to seize the assets of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Menzgold Ghana Limited, Nana Appiah Mensah.
Speaking on Adom TV’s morning show, ‘Badwam’, he explained that Mensah continues to fly in airplanes and rides in Land Cruisers while his clients struggle to survive.
According to him, the properties of directors of some savings and loans companies should also be seized and shared amongst Menzgold’s clients.
“Whether Menzgold, Ideal finance or whatever, government must seize their assets and sell to defray the debts of the customers. Why is the guy’s still using planes, lots of Land Cruisers…,” he charged.
In his opinion, Mensah is a friend of his, but there is bad pressure coming, and for that reason, somethings can no longer be endured.
The Central Bank since last year has been warning the general public against doing business with Menzgold because the company is not registered to take deposits.
Also some savings and loans companies in the country have been hit by panic withdrawals.
The development has already made it difficult for these companies to meet customer demands.
According to some of the companies, the situation has been compounded by the fact that most of their clients are not paying back their loans on time.
