Anokye Supremo, formerly known as DL Junior, has asked Ghanaians to support him in raising money to foot his surgery to correct a tumour that has developed on his brain.
The surgery, according to him, will cost an estimated GHC 10,000. It is however not clear where he is looking to get attention.
But Adomonline.com reports that the sometime-musician who was sued by music legend Daddy Lumba for copying his brand, is asking for urgent public support before things go worse.
He is quoted as saying: “I started having headaches and decided to get painkillers from a pharmacy but looking at the severity a month after, I decided to seek medical attention at the Lapaz Community Clinic".
He continued: "Initially, I was asked to get my eyes checked at the eye clinic because my left eye was swollen after which the Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) Specialist of the Clinic.diagnosed me with a brain tumour.
This has left me blind in my left eye and now I have been asked to take another scan (MRI) which will be done tomorrow before the surgery.”
Anokye's highlife career was short-lived although he left Ghanaians with a few songs. He is currently promoting the latest "Hash Wush", in order to raise funds.
Some of his other songs are “Fame Twa”, “Krom Ayɛ Dɛ”, “Efiri Nea Efire” and “Se Mepe Mehoa Ni” to his credit.
