It is rare to see individuals mock their looks. But that is exactly what former Black Stars captain Stephen Appiah has done in a new photo shared on Instagram.
In the photo's caption, the famed footballer declared himself as “horror but sexy”.
He went ahead to tag himself as “hot chocolate” and “ninja”.

While we cannot say what exactly was going through legendary footballer’s mind when he made that post, it could be that he was thinking about his looks.
Appiah, also called Tonardo, has been often been described as a not too fine man by some Ghanaians.
Therefore, it could be that in a bid to tell those Ghanaians that he was already aware of who he is, wrote that about himself.

Some of his fans appears to be unhappy with Appiah’s declaration of being horrible but sexy.
For instance, Cute asked Appiah who has said he is horrible:
jtet_cute: “Who said you are horror please.”
Eddy also said Appiah was a black sexy man:
official.eddy1: “Black sexy man .”
Another Instagram user by the name 4our_2zero said Appiah should relax because “a man must be ugly and fearful”:
4our_2zero: “Don’t even worry about it.....cos a man must be ugly and fearful.”

Young also said Appiah looked like a land guard in the photo:

Stephen Appiah was in the news recently following a beautiful photo he shared with his daughter.
He is one of Africa’s most respected football stars who has also carved a niche for himself on the international scene.
He retired from his football career in 2015, and handed over the captainship of the national team to his colleague, Asamoah Gyan.
He is on record to have led the team to its first World Cup appearance in 2006.
Stephen Appiah remains one of Ghana’s finest footballers and he is highly revered.
He is also a brand ambassador for some brands, including Vitamilk.
