- MP for Assin Central, has referred to IMANI president, Franklin Cudjoe, as a zombie economist
- According to him, Cudjoe should focus more on educating Ghanaians on issues, instead of attacking MPs
- He passed the comment in the wake of remarks by Cudjoe concerning the creation of new districts
The Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong, has described the president of Imani Ghana, Franklin Cudjoe, as a zombie economist.
Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen on Wednesday, November 14, 2018, Agyapong stated that it will better if Cudjoe educates Ghanaians on issues instead of bashing MPs.
This was after Cudjoe had called for more transparency in the creation of new districts.
He argued that the elevation of districts that had grown beyond their required threshold to the municipality and metropolitan statuses was the best way to go, instead of splitting them.
He added that the creation of regions was not the antidote to widespread poverty. but allocation and prudent use of resources were the best ways to go.
Cudjoe went on to say that the move is also an avenue for politicians, especially MPs to cause financial loss to the state.
This did not go down well with Agyapong, who described him as a zombie economist who uses his position to deceive people for selfish gains.
“Franklin is a zombie economist who is only using his NGO to take money from people from abroad.
How well do you even know these MPs that you speak badly about? If you have an NGO, do us a favour by using that means to educate Ghanaians instead of bashing parliamentarians,” he said.
He also indicated that he would haunt Cudjoe by exposing his sources of income.
