Police arrest suspected pickpocket at NDC’s congress

- A suspected pickpocket was arrested at Trade Fair in Accra, where NDC organized its conference to elect national officers

- The unidentified man was caught as he tried to take GHC80 belonging to a delegate

- He was handed over to the police and taken away

An unidentified man was arrested as counting continued at the National Democratic Congress (NDC) delegates congress held at the Trade Fair grounds.

The suspect, who allegedly tried to steal GHC80 belonging to a delegate, was caught in the act and reported to the police.

The delegate whose money was about to be stolen sensed the suspect;s intent and turned around.

This forced the suspect to drop the money, which was already out of the delegate’s pocket.

Those present then drew the attention of the police who whisked him away.

At the end of the congress, Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo emerged victorious as the national chairman of the NDC.

Johnson Asiedu Nketia, popularly known as General Mosquito, also retained his position as the General Secretary of the party.
