Shortage of gas caused recent power outages - GRIDCo

- GRIDCo has attributed the recent power outages to drop in gas supply to the Aboadze thermal plant

- The company has promised to find alternate ways to the situation

The Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo) has attributed the recent power outages experienced mostly in the capital to a drop in the supply of gas to the Aboadze Thermal Plant in the Western Region.

According to GRIDCo, the reduction in power generation has caused blackouts during peak periods between 7pm and 9pm on Monday, November 19, 2018.

In the statement released from the public relations department of GRIDCo, the company stated it was working with other power generators to ensure continuous supply to all customers.
