According to his narration, the incident happened on Friday, November 9, 2018, when as usual, he sat at the back of his father’s motorbike heading to school while his dad headed to the farm.

In the most heart-wrenching manner, some assailants pounced on them with cutlasses at a spot between the two towns mentioned earlier, and started inflicting machete wounds on the father.

The dad, popularly known as Obodai in the community, reportedly suffered machete wounds to his head, arms, shoulders and any part of his body the assailants found fit to inflict.

The assailants did not end there but turned to his son and inflicted the same wounds on him in the hope that he would be killed too but he survived.

Two men started it all. They had cables in hand which they used first to whip my dad who then lost control over the motorbike and I fell together with him. Then the others joined in. This time with machetes,” the traumatised young boy narrated.

He was calling for someone to come to his aid but there was no one. It was very sad.”

“When they were cutting him I was watching because I knew whatever happens me too I won’t be alive. I am wondering how I am still alive,” he added.

According to him, he stood watching, praying to God to prepare a better place for his father because he knew that he was not going to survive what was being done to him.
