Ghana U-23 football team coach, Yusif Abubakar, has been laid to rest on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 in Kumasi.
The former coach of Aduana Stars died on Tuesday after being treated for an illness which was reported by YEN.com.gh.
Before his death, Abubakar was the head coach of the national U-23 team of Ghana - the Black Meteors.
He was handed over the position a month ago and he was tasked to qualify the team to the next Olympic Games in Tokyo.
But the experienced trainer couldn’t achieve that dream as he is no more.
He started his coaching career at the University of Development Studies where he coached the school’s football team.
He has coached top clubs in the Ghana Premier League including Hearts of Oak, Aduana Stars and Berekum Chelsea.
Abubakar won two leagues titles – he won it with Berekum Chelsea and Aduana Stars.
