Paul Ince believes Jose Mourinho has suffocated Paul Pogba at Man United

- Ex-Red Devils star Ince is of the opinion that Paul Pogba might have to leave for normalcy to return to Old Trafford

- Since he had a bust out with Jose Mourinho last season, the two has failed to get along well enough

- The midfielder has failed to live up to his billing since his return to United in 2016 under the watch of the Portuguese tactician

Former England midfielder Paul Ince has blamed Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho for Paul Pogba's struggles at Old Trafford.

The French star re-joined the Red Devils in the summer of 2016 from Juventus but has failed to live up to his billing at the club.

Despite inspiring France to winning their second FIFA World Cup in Russia this summer, Pogba has not been able to help United compete with top clubs this term.

He has scored five goals and assisted three others in 15 appearances in all competitions this season, yet, his relationship with Mourinho keeps nose-diving.

Both had a fallen out last term, and it has extended to this season - with the midfielder tipped with a move to Barcelona after the World Cup.

Daily Mail however reports that Ince, who played for United from 1989 to 1995, feels that Pogba moving on could be for the best.

"I can't say I'm surprised to hear about the Paul Pogba rumours, suggesting he's interested in leaving Old Trafford in January," Ince told Paddy Power.

"He said recently that he was happy at Man United, but I didn't believe any of that.

"I believe a Pogba move away from United would suit both parties. If we're being honest, he's never settled on his return to the club.

"He's been inconsistent in his performances, going from world class to looking bang average, and there's always been whispers and transfer talk surrounding him in that time.

"Some of those rumours have come from his camp, too. But he's one of those players that as long as he's at United there will be trouble and talk."

Meanwhile, Pogba was left out of France team for their 2-0 defeat to Netherlands in the UEFA Nations League clash. They bounced back to victory after beating Uruguay 1-0 in a test game on Tuesday, November 20.

The midfielder was spotted in Dubai with Barcelona ace Lionel Messi as they posed for a photograph while dining at Salt Bae's restaurant.

"His personality is to stir up rumours – like getting in a picture with Messi recently. He's an attention-seeker, he wants people to talk about him." Ince added.

Despite being critical of Pogba, Ince does acknowledge that he is a fine footballer who has been mismanaged.

Pogba was told by Mourinho that he would never captain United again in September after the midfielder had been critical of his side's tactical negativity.

"We know that he's a fantastic player. We saw that at Juventus, and I don't think we can blame him for the fact he's been suffocated by Jose Mourinho." he concluded.

YEN.com.gh recalls that Paul Ince accused Manchester United stars of deliberately conspiring to get Jose Mourinho sacked according to the Sun.

The atmosphere at Old Trafford seem toxic as the relationship between the Red Devils manager and his star midfielder Paul Pogba is deteriorating.

They are yet to win a game in the last four matches in all competitions with the Portuguese tactician been tipped to be replaced anytime soon.
