The death of the Member of Parliament (MP) for Ayawaso West Wuogon, Emmanuel Kyeremanteng Agyarko, was a result of a malignant gallbladder, his family has revealed.
3news.com disclosed that the legislator fell ill about four weeks ago, and passed away on Wednesday, November 21, 2018.
He was flown to the United States of America (USA) for treatment, but despite the efforts of the doctors, he did not survive.
According to former energy minister, Boakye Agyarko, who is his brother, the late MP was initially treated at the Ridge Hospital in Accra, to help deal with his acidic reflux.
Upon consultations with doctors, he went on, it was decided that the late MP should be treated outside the country.
Boakye Agyarko revealed that his brother was healthy when he emplaned, and was processed for admission at the Yale University Hospital.
He added that together with his siblings, they have since informed the family as tradition demands, and authorization has been given for the funeral processes to begin.
