- The midfielder will earn £290,000 pounds-per-week in his new deal with the Blues
- He joined the Stamford Bridge side in 2016 and win the EPL title at the end of the season
Chelsea star N'golo Kante has penned a new long term contract with his Premier League side Chelsea football club.
The World Cup-winning star signed a five year deal that will see him earn £290,000 pounds-per-week.
His new deal will also see him represent the Premier League club until the summer of 2026 after initially joining them in 2016.
The Frenchman was instrumental to the Blues English topflight title under former manager Antonio Conte in his debut season.
Barely a season after winning the same title with Leicester City and became part of the history at the King Power Stadium.
Kante has featured in all 12 EPL matches this term, scoring once and creating an assist for the Blues for far.
He won several awards for his quality performances and consistency by being named Player of the Year by both the PFA and FWA.
While reacting to the new deal, Kante said: "I’m happy to extend my time with Chelsea, it has been two beautiful years and I wish for more to come.
"Since I came, I completely improved as a player, challenged myself and got some awards I never thought about. I like the city, I like the club and I am happy to be here for more time." he concluded.
Club director Marina Granovskaia added: "We are delighted N’Golo has signed a new contract and sees his long-term future with Chelsea.
"When he arrived, we knew we had signed a special player but he has astounded everybody with his tireless and unselfish displays.
"Off the pitch, he remains a dedicated professional and a humble human being despite the fact he is a world champion and a two-time Premier League winner.
"We now look forward to five more years with N’Golo at the heart of the Chelsea midfield."
YEN.com.gh recalls that Kante clearly stated that he has no intention of leaving Chelsea at the end of the ongoing season.
The Frenchman has been superb for the Blues since he joined them from Leicester City and has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge this summer.
However, he has now insisted that he is solely focused on helping the Blues achieve their goals this season.
