Crystal Palace battle Man United to barren draw at Old Trafford

-The trio of Romelu Lukaku, Paul Pogba and Juan Mata were back for Man United, while Wilfried Zaha returned to Palace XI

- Patrick van Aanholt missed a sitter and Cheikhou Kouyate had a goal disallowed as Palace tried ti steal a win

- Romelu Lukaku was flad offside on the 60th minute after scoring but the 0-0 result earned Crystal Palace their first ever EPL point at United

Manchester United and Crystal Palace played a 0-0 draw on Saturday, November 23, in a rough Premier League clash at Old Trafford.

The encounter saw both side missing scoring changes but none was able to count.

Belgium forward Romelu Lukaku had a late effort ruled out for offside as United thought they had taken the lead, but that was the closest they game to score on the day.

The two teams had goals disallowed during the tough encounter which saw Palace leave Old Trafford with their first ever Premier League point.

The Red Devils had the best scoring moments in the opening stanza of the game as England stars Jesse Lingard failed to convert from 20-yard but was blocked by James Tomkins.

On the other hand, the Palace did not take to come into the game with ex-Manchester United winger, Wilfried Zaha hitting his shot over the crossbar along with another chance within minutes.

The Ivorian also played an important role in setting up Patrick van Aanholt with the game’s best scoring opportunity, but the unmarked Dutchman failed to make the move count from 15 yards out.

United were not adventurous upfront with Wayne Hennessey on holiday until the 30th minute.

However, when thy attempted two goal scoring chances, the Palace goalkeeper rose to the occasion to keep out Lingard's effort from an Ashley Young's cross.

And he was quick to react to save from Anthony Martial's header.

Manchester United defender Chris Smalling equally had a header wide from a tight angle on 40 minutes, but it was the away side held on the finish the first stanza on equal terms with their host.

The second half was not different as the misses continued.and at the blasts of the final whistl both sides failed to break the deadlock.

A performance that left Manchester United fans booing Jose Mourinho and Manchester United players off the pitch in frustration.
