- WAEC assured Ghanaians that its database is secured so there will be no incident of leaks from them
The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has withheld the results of all 2,160 private candidates who wrote this year’s West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
YEN.com.gh understands that the decision was taken because the candidates were involves in for private candidates for allegedly involving in various examination malpractices.
This was contained in a statement issued by WAEC on the release of provisional results of 133,986 candidates who sat for this year’s WASSCE for private candidates.
“The withheld results will be released as soon as the council concludes investigations. Candidates may access their results online at www.waecgh.org,” it said.
The statement cautioned members of the public to be wary of the activities of fraudsters who contacted candidates with the promise of giving them better results.
It added that Ghanaians are assured that WAEC’s results database is well-secured and for that reason it will not be compromised.
The council further noted that institutions and organizations can confirm or verify results directly presented to them or access the results online from WAEC’s website.
