- This was after she had been questioned about that possibility in an interview on Good Evening Ghana
Ghana’s former first lady, Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, has laughed off rumours of the possibility of her daughter, Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, vying for a running mate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Speaking with Paul Adom-Otchere on the programme, Good Evening Ghana, she said: “Don’t come to pull my legs here.”
This was after rumours of a possible partnership between former president John Mahama and her daughter had come up.
YEN.com.gh understands that the suggestion of the partnership came up whene a lecturer, Dr Kwesi Amakye raised it on radio.
He allegedly stated that such a move will be a strategic move to play, as Dr. Agyeman-Rawlings will be a good choice.
Meanwhile, Dr Agyeman-Rawlings had said she was "willing" to support the NDC to win the 2020 general elections by serving in "whatever capacity.”
She however added that it is a tricky situation, as she is not the one to decide who could be the running mate to the 2020 flagbearer of the NDC.
Following the very first report of the possible Mahama-Zanetor ticket, the former president’s campaign team described the media publication as false.
A statement signed by Mr Mahama’s spokesperson, James Agyenim-Boateng, on Wednesday, October 7, 2018, asked the public to disregard the speculations.
