- The Kumasi campus of the University of Education have been hit with a Shingles outbreak

- About 375 students have been infected so far with the number increasing by the day

There have been an outbreak of a skin rash-like disease suspected to be shingles at the Kumasi campus of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW)

Students of the Kumasi campus of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) have since been panic-stricken following an outbreak.

About 375 students have reportedly been infected by the disease within a space of two weeks, causing fear and panic on campus.

The students have petitioned the management of the university to immediately provide free medical treatment to the affected students and also fumigate the entire campus to deal with the outbreak.

The chief petitioner on behalf of the students, Samuel Clinton Boateng said the situation keeps getting worse by the day.

He has therefore urged the management of the school to take swift action.
