The Unity and University Halls of the Kwame Nkrumah University if Science and Technology (KNUST) are set to be reverted back to all-male halls.
According to a report by MyNewsGh.com, the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Kwasi Obiri Danso has finally patched up his differences with student leaders.
Some months ago, the Conti and Katanga halls were both converted from male halls to mixed halls.
The decision was protested by students and alumni alike, however, the University board ahead with the conversion of the halls.
It has now emerged that Executives of both halls together with the SRC President met with the VC, former Dean and the head of legal affairs for KNUST to deliberate on restoring the halls back to their previous states.
Calm has finally been restored on the campus of KNUST following escalated tensions between students and the VC last month.
What was supposed to be a peaceful walk turned out to be violent, as students vandalised properties on campus.
This led to the University being indefinitely closed down, until it was reopened some weeks ago.
But the big news is that following crunch meetings, the Katanga and Conti halls are reportedly set to be reverted back to all-male halls.
