Manchester United share spoils with Southampton at Saint Mary's Stadium

- Man United came from two goals down to play 2-2 draw with Southampton at Saint Mary's Stadium

- Lukaku and Herrera scored a goal each to secure a point for Jose Mourinho's side after regulation period

- They will battle Arsenal in their next Premier League clash at Old Trafford next Wednesday

Manchester United survived Southampton's scare at Saint Mary's Stadium after coming from two goals down to clinch valuable point in Saturday's Premier League clash.

Stuart Armstrong opened scoring for the saints through a low short from close range in the 13th minute with Michael Obafemi credited with the assist.

Five minutes later Cedric Soares powered home a superb free kick to double his side's lead in the 18th minute.

United should taken the lead earlier in the game thanks to Romelu Lukaku who failed to convert his chances.

However, the Belgian forward reduced the deficit for the Red Devils in 33rd minute after benefiting from a Marcus Rashford's pass.

Ander Herrera registered his name on the scores sheet in the 39th minute from another superb assist from Rashford.

The England international drove the ball to the right side of the post before sending a diagonal pass that handed them their equaliser as they avoided defeat in the game.

They however remain seventh on the table with 22 points after 14 topflight matches ahead of their midweek encounter against Arsenal at Old Trafford on Wednesday, December 5.

YEN.com.gh recalls that Manchester United and Crystal Palace played 0-0 draw on Saturday, November 23, in a rough Premier League clash at Old Trafford.

The encounter saw both side missing scoring changes but none was able to count.

Belgium forward Romelu Lukaku had a late effort ruled out for offside as United thought they had taken the lead, but that was the closest they game to score on the day.
