Police officials have arrested a senior nurse at the Tamale Teaching Hospital (TTH) for fraud, YEN.com.gh can report.
The nurse, whose identity is yet to be established, allegedly connived with another person, Abdulai Abdul Somed, to defraud clients.
Items retrieved from the suspect include hospital cards, stethoscope, syringes and other materials which were kept in a handbag used as a bait to deceive clients of the facility and then demand money from them in order to facilitate their seeing a medical officer.

YEN.com.gh understands that his arrest follows surveillance by authorities of the facility following complaints by some persons over illegal charges and extortion.
According to a report by MyNewsGH.com, the management of the TTH revealed that it has been alerted to media and radio commentary about some forms of extortion and illegal charging of clients in various departments of the hospital.
In that respect, several warnings have been given to staff who extort monies from clients, with the final line of action being sanctions.
