The Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong, has been enskinned as the Ting Maal Naa of Lawra in the Upper West Region.
Agyapong now bears the title Naa Dery in addition to his name Kennedy Agyapong, per the customs and traditions of the people of Lawra, according to a report sighted by YEN.com.gh on Pulsegh.com.
The controversial and fearless MP was in the company of the MP for Lawra, Anthony Karbo, when the titled was conferred on him.
Agyapong had reportedly joined Karbo in the launch of the Ti-Deltaa Women’s Group which aims at empowering and supporting rural women of Lawra.
His enskinment reportedly comes after the many developmental projects he has rolled out in his constituency and Ghana as a whole as an MP.
Naa Dery Agyapong seems to always be in the news for controversial reasons.
He is noted for criticising his own NPP government since Akufo-Addo came to power.
Recently, Kennedy Agyapong was in the news for condemning the NPP for blaming ‘dumsor’ on former president John Mahama.
He reasoned that the government must not have any excuses to solve "dumsor" after being in power for two years.
Agyapong was also in the news for saying the cedi depreciation should be blamed on Akufo-Addo and his government.
