A class three pupil has reportedly caused the arrest of her class teacher for caning her.
The girl, after she was disciplined by her teacher, was said to have stormed out of the classroom and headed to the Kronum Police Station where she lodged a complaint.
The teacher, Paul Takyi, of the Charity Preparatory School at Bremang UGC in the Suame Municipality, has been released on bail after his statement was taken.
The reason behind the caning is yet to be ascertained as the case is still being investigated, according to Mynewsgh.com's report.
Takyi, who has been released on bail, was reportedly devastated and wept bitterly over the incident.
The headteacher of the School, Edward Akanzu-Ise, expressed shock that a girl of that age could take such an action against her teacher.
He however admitted that the teacher actually gave her 3 strokes of the cane.
Meanwhile, Defense for Children International, a child rights organization, have hailed the girl for taking such an initiative which was a violation of her fundamental human rights.
Nana Akomanyi Essandoh IV, the chief of Gomoa Odumasi in the Central region, has urged other school kids to emulate the action of the class 3 pupil, by reporting any form of abuse to their parents, teachers, the police or any elderly person who could be of help to them.
