After the game, the 26-year-old was by wife's side during delivery as they welcomed a new member into their family.
The Brazilian born Italian shared a family picture on his Instagram to express his delight to his followers.
"The new member of the family has arrived," Jorginho posted.
"One more blessing in my life. Thank you father, I only ask for much health. What a wonderful family that I love so much. Alicia, we love you princess."
The midfielder will be making a quick return to training ahead of the Blue midweek match against Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Molineux.
But Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri may give the Italian a short break to spend time with his family to keep him fresh for weekend's match against league leaders Manchester City at Stamford Bridge.
