Ghana AIDS Commission boss asks Ghanaians to pray for Dzidzor Mensah

The acting Director-General of the Ghana AIDS Commission (GAC), Steve Kyeremeh Atuahene has called on Ghanaians to pray for former HIV/AIDS Ambassador, Joyce Dzidzor Mensah. The Director-General Kyeremeh Atuahene also added that Mensah needed psyche evaluation.

Atuahene was speaking to Captain Smart of Adom FM on the show, Dwaso Nsem. They were discussing the issues that Mensah has sparked with explicit and suggestive comments and photos.

In a report first filed by Adomonline.com, Kyeremeh Atuahene said: “She came out to admit that she was HIV positive after declaring publicly that she was not but for now, all we would ask from Ghanaians is to pray for her”.

“Doctors, especially, should volunteer to assist her psychologically because we think she really needs help".

In December 2014, Mensah publicly announced that she lied about her HIV/AIDS status for years and had never tested positive for the disease.

It still remains a mystery how she ended up working with the Ghana AIDS commission as an HIV/AIDS ambassador.

After that declaration, she has been on several media platforms trying to defend her actions, even though she has received widespread criticisms from Ghanaians and the Commission.

However, in 2016, she made a shocking U-turn to say she, indeed, tested positive for the virus. This narrative did not stand for long when she revoked her statements again in 2018.
