Rasheeda Adams, ex-wife of the lawmaker for Kumbungu constituency, Ras Mubarak, has disclosed that she has served her jail term in marriage which is off her mind for the next 30 years.
The media personality fell short of disclosing details of what transpired for which she described the period as a time in jail.
However, Adams says she prefers to stay alone and has subsequently advised her mother not to torment her with marriage.
This report was first filed by MyNewsGh.com, who spotted the post on her Facebook page.
In a statement commemorating the 16 Days Of Activism, a gender-based advocacy platform, the mother of two stated in a Facebook post: “Like I always say to my mum: “I’ve done my jail time”. Nobody should dare say the word “marriage” in my presence for the next 30 years. I can’t comman kee [kill] myself”.
Adams likened marriage to a jail term, perhaps hinting of her time with Ras Mubarak.
It is interesting that this is what Adams chose to point out as the world commemorated International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.
Earlier YEN.com.gh carried a story about how Adams is by herself, an accomplished media personality who has noted that she is not ready to remarry.
Adams is obviously not as popular as her former husband but she is a gender rights advocate and has been vocal about such issues.
