This is the fourth doctorate degree Mahama has received so far.

It will be recalled that in 2016, the University of Aberdeen in Scotland conferred an honorary degree of Doctors of Laws (LLD) on him while he was Ghana's president.

Just last week, Mahama was honoured with a Doctor of Letters degree by the Igbinedion University, Nigeria's first private university.

Meanwhile, some minority MPs have raised the GHC420,000 which Mahama needs to contest in the NDC's presidential primary in January.

The NDC is selling nomination forms at GHC 20,000 after which a candidate would have to pay GHC400,000 as filing fee.

While the amount, considered as exorbitant, has caused many of the aspirants to complain or even withdraw, Mahama's dream remains on course with the swift fundraiser which has reportedly yielded over GHC600,000 including contributions from other party supporters.
