- He therefore asked the other aspirants to step aside so he could soon become president of Ghana
An aspiring flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Stephen Atubiga, has revealed that it is time for him to become the president of Ghana.
He has therefore called on the other presidential hopefuls to throw in the towel, so he can ascend to the presidency.
Speaking on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem, Atubiga further noted that some spiritual leaders have assured him that it was his time to rule Ghana.
“I’m very grateful for the opportunity. Tell my other colleagues to step down for me.
Soothsayers and mallams say it’s my time, and even pastors have confirmed that it’s my time, so they should give me the opportunity to the rule the country. I have a special place for them,” he said.
YEN.com.gh earlier reported that four NDC stalwarts had picked up forms at Tuesday, December 4, 2018.
A fifth contestant, Alban Bagbin, however rejected forms picked for him and subsequently revealed that he was part of a petition to call for a review of some decisions taken with regard to the process.
After a meeting held to determine the way forward, the council reduced the filing fee to GHC300,000 but maintained the cost of the nomination forms at GHC20,000
They also extended the date of the congress from Saturday, January 19 to Saturday, January 26, 2019.
