YEN.com.gh understands that heavily-armed soldiers have arrested the Regent of Nakua near Gushegu in the Northern Region.

The incident sparked fears of a protest by the Andani chieftaincy faction in Tamale and Yendi.

He was picked up after heading to Yendi to inform the Regent of Dagbon, Kampakuyana Abdulai Yakubu Andani, that he was done performing his late father’s funeral rites.

This was because security officials had placed a “a no-move order” on him a few days ago, when he informed them about his journey to Gbewaa Palace to perform the ritual before the Kampakuyana at the Old Gbewaa Palace in Yendi.

His arrest did not go down well with some social media users who vented their displeasure at the turn of events.

One social media referred to the reporter of the news as "useless."

Another disclosed that there was nothing going on there.

Yet another stated that there is no tension.

Taribo West also wondered which part of Yendi was having challenges.

Amadu also declared that there is nothing happening at Yendi.
