Pogba believes Mourinho is using him as a scapegoat for his teammates

- Pogba has revealed Mourinho is trying to mock him in front of his teammates

- The Frenchman was an unused substitute in United's 4-1 win over Fulham

- The 25-year-old will feature in United's Champions League game with Valencia

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba believes Jose Mourinho is trying to "humiliate" and "make an example" of him to other flops in the squad.

It is understood that the 25-year-old acknowledges he is being used as a scapegoat by the Portuguese gaffer.

The French World Cup winner was an unused substitute in the 4-1 win over Fulham at Old Trafford, after his poor showing in United's 2-2 draw against Southampton.

The former Juventus star is reportedly not happy with the treatment he is getting compared to other teammates who are underperforming.

According to the Star, a Manchester United source said: "Paul is confused because he’s not the only one to have struggled to produce his best in recent weeks.

"But he feels like he’s been singled out for special treatment and been made an example of.

"It’s all a bit humiliating considering his status in the game."

The Reds Devils moved up to sixth on the Premier League table ahead of Everton, but a win for the Toffees against visiting Watford will see United slip back to seventh.

United have already made it through to the knock out phase of the Champions League as they prepare to face Valencia in their final group game against Valencia at the Mestalla.

Mourinho is set to name Pogba in a weak side that will face the Spanish side on Wednesday, December 12.

And an outstanding performance from the £89million midfielder may not be enough to earn him a starting place in United's trip to Liverpool on Sunday.

However, the former Chelsea boss believes the Frenchman can up his game and live up to expectation.

He said: "He has the potential to be a fantastic player. He has to play with the same mentality as the team is playing.

"Against Valencia he is going to start and he is going to have a fantastic game and to show everyone how good he is."

Meanwhile, Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku has revealed he gained too much weight over the summer and that was the reason for his poor scoring form.

The Belgium international was forced to slim down in a bid to rediscover his form after failing to hit the back of the net in strings of matches.
