Barcelona settle for a 1-1 scoreline with Tottenham as both sides go through

Barcelona played out a 1-1 draw with Tottenham as both teams qualify into the next phase of the Champions League.

The highly anticipated fixture lived up to its billing as both sides showed their attacking prowess with Spurs showing more urgency.

But in the seventh minute, the wonder kid from France showed why he is one of the hottest prospect in the game with an amazing solo goal.

The 21-year-old stole the ball from Walker-Peters and sprint from the half-way line down to Tottenham's goal as he calmly beat the on-rushing Harry Winks before slotting the ball past Hugo Lloris.

As it stood, the English side were still in contention of making it through to the next stage after PSV went ahead against Inter Milan at the San Siro.

In the 33rd minute Heung-Min Son was unlucky not to have scored the equalizer as he beat Thomas Vermaelen and found himself one-on-one with Cillesen in goal but his shot hit the Dutch goalkeeper's foot.

Philippe Coutinho should have made it 2-0 just before half time but his shot from five-yards out struck the post as Spurs breathe a sigh of relief.

Mauricio Pochettino's side began the half brilliantly as Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli's shots were blocked by defenders in quick succession.

Harry Kane came close in the 66th minute as his header was cleared off the line as Barcelona maintained a one-goal lead.

Just as Spurs were pushing men forward for an equalizer, Inter Milan leveled the scores through their dangerman Mauro Icardi in the 73rd minute and Pochettino's men were on the verge on crashing out.

The English side were handed a life-line as Kane linked a through ball to Lucas Moura who finished from ten-yards to make it 1-1 at the Nou Camp.

Tottenham held on as they progressed into the second round of the competition as Inter Milan were demoted in the Europa League after being held to a 1-1 draw by PSV.
