My 2019 resolution is to stop smoking – Kwaw Kese

Ghanaian rapper Kwaw Kese, born Emmanuel Botchwey says he wants to quit smoking totally in the coming year, 2019.

Kwaw Kese who revealed in a social media post that he has been smoking for the past 20 years opined he wants go on a break and asked for God’s help.

“I smoke to over twenty years, eiii. 2019 biggest resolution, I go go break small so help me God,” he tweeted.

Kwaw Kese is one of the prominent Ghanaians who has consistently advocated the decriminalisation of marijuana.

In November 2014, he was arrested for smoking weed in a public place in Kumasi.

Kwaw Kese, popularly called Abodam, was smoking in an open place in front a wine shop in Kumasi with other friends when he was arrested.

He was sentenced to a day imprisonment with a fine of GHc 1, 200.

He also said in an interview on Joy FM that he still smokes even though he doesn’t do it in public.

“That issue is a public issue but if I am doing it under my bed that that is me,” Kwaw Kese explained his deed.
