5 achievements Akufo-Addo’s government has chalked in 2018

The year 2018 may go down in history as one that will be celebrated by the Akufo-Addo-led government.

In the light of the challenges that faced them, they have reasons to be proud of achievements chalked in the year.

YEN.com.gh has sampled five major accomplishments of the current administration in the year 2018:

1. Introduction of NABCO:

The Nation Builders Corps (NABCO) programme is a government initiative to address graduate unemployment to solve social problems. The focus of the initiative is solving public service delivery in health, education, agriculture, technology, governance and drive revenue mobilization and collection.

2. Falling fuel prices:

In the last quarter of the year 2018, fuel prices became a primary source of concern for Ghanaians. This has however become a thing of the past, as the average fuel price at most filling station is below the GHC5 per litre mark.

3. Falling inflation:

Ghana’s inflation rate has been on a steady decline since the year 2016, when it was pegged at 17.46%. It is currently pegged at 9.47%, and projected to decline even further to 8% in the year 2019.

4. Mobile Money Interoperability:

Ghanaians can now seamlessly send monies across all networks using mobile money accounts.

5. Drop in the GDP to debt ratio:

Ghana’s Debt-to-GDP ratio has dropped to 57.2% according to the Monetary Policy Committee of the Bank of Ghana.

Ghana’s Total Debt to GDP ratio stood at 73.1% at the end of December 2017.
