Former Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho will pocket a staggering £24m as dismissal wage after being sacked by the Old Trafford chiefs on Tuesday.
According to a UK Sun report, the 55-year-old football tactician was sacked after guiding the Old Trafford outfit, United to their worst start to a Premier League season in 28 years.
Interestingly, SunSport hinted over the weekend that the Portuguese tactician would pocket about £24m, if he gets the sack from Man United eggheads within 45 days.
A further breakdown revealed that Mourinho’s new deal with the Manchester club in January that was expected to keep him at Old Trafford until 2020 helped to figure rise up to £24m.
But after discovering that Mourinho had lost the support of squad members ahead of United’s 3-1 bashing by Liverpool, United chiefs opted to sack the former Chelsea boss.
Indeed, during his reign at Old Trafford, Mourinho had series of issues with top squad members like the pair of Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial.
Former club legend Michael Carrick is now expected to take charge at United as club’s chiefs continue search for a caretaker boss after the Portuguese dismissal.
Carrick spent 12 years as a player at Old Trafford before he was named Mourinho's No.2 last summer.
Meanwhile, YEN.com.gh previously had reported that Manchester United have sacked Jose Mourinho barely three-years in charge at the Theatre of Dreams.
United have recorded poor strings of results in all through their campaign including their 3-1 bashing at the hands of Liverpool at Anfield last weekend.
Mourinho's assistant and former captain, Micheal Carrick is reportedly going to be in charge until a new manager is appointed.
